California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona or CPP for short) It is also often translated as California Polytechnic State University (Pomona), a historic public polytechnic university located in Pomona, southern California. It is one of the two engineering universities in the 23-university California State University system. The campus is located about 30 miles east of Los Angeles, covering an area of 1,437 acres (5.8 square kilometers), with business, hotel management and engineering as its main majors. It is now the second largest university in the California State University System, operating on a Semester System, with approximately 22,157 students and 1,225 faculty and staff.
Pomona California Polytechnic State University was originally founded in 1938 as the Pomona campus of California Polytechnic State University and became an independent institution in 1966.
